Boley Family Leadership at Prairie Pella
In 1974, Chris Boley returned to Iowa and settled in Des Moines. He started working for J.E. Hammer and Son, who had five team members at the time. Chris completed all tasks, including selling, loading and unloading the truck, assembly, delivery, service and more while learning the business.
In 1979, Dick Franklin became the owner of what is now called Prairie Pella. Chris purchased shares and became office manage, sales manager and eventually general manager. Chris became the owner when Dick retired in 1985.
Chris’ sons, Jered and Jordan Boley, have since joined him at Prairie Pella.
Jered joined the company part-time in 1993. A year later, Prairie Pella expanded and purchased the Quad Cities Distributors.
Jered began his full-time career with Pella in 2002, supporting inside sales before transitioning to become a trade sales representative. He later managed the retail sales division team from 2011–2016.
In 2010, Prairie Pella acquired Wyoming Pella.
Jordan started his corporate career with Xerox in Seattle out of college. He joined Pella in 2012 was a replacement rep for 5 years, winning Presidents club 4 times and replacement sales manager for 2.5 years. He became a general manager of sales in 2019.
Jered rounded out his knowledge in trade and commercial work in 2017–18. He became the general manager overseeing operations in 2019. Jordan also moved into a general manager role and oversees the sales divisions.
Also in 2019, Prairie Pella adopted Gino Wickman’s Traction Entrepreneurial Operating System, which has allowed the branch to build operational excellence throughout the business.
